Re: Angelo Ogbonna - Signed!
Yes because he had a man to mark against Arsenal same as Oxford did. In space he's lost. He doesn't cover and doesn't rush to get back. Apart from that he's f*cking brilliant...

Re: Angelo Ogbonna - Signed!
He looked good against Arsenal and handled Giroud well. I didn't think he was particularly at fault today and find it very odd that he got subbed.

Re: Angelo Ogbonna - Signed!
Big powerful defender that hasn't got any positional sense. We were warned by lots of bad press from Juventus fans and journalists that all said much the same before we signed him. Wasted £10m as far as I'm concerned.

Oh yes and all those that slagged me off before we signed him for raising these points? How do you feel now eh?

solidbond 11:16 Sat Aug 22 He was awful. Admittedly a few others could have gone but watch Ogbonna strolling around and barely getting back on MOTD replays. I think this was a reflection on what Bilic was saying in midweek about getting involved and showing passion. Bilic's defensive formation isn't working though - I don't accept Creswell and Jenkinson have suddenly got that bad.

I was concerned when I read the Juvenile reviews on this thread originally before signing him, but I have been impressed with him and think he may well turn out to be our best defender.

Moe worrying is the bizarre decision by Bilic to sub him.

Crassus,

We were scouting Ogbonna before Bilic was here. I'm not sure if was his decision to sign the bloke.

solidbond 11:57 Sat Aug 22
Re: Angelo Ogbonna - Signed!
Crassus.yer for the reason I gave . He reacted to the situation in hand.and went to a back 4 with 50 -60 games together under there belts.it was the sensible thing to do, to try and stabilize the back 4 .,

Re: Angelo Ogbonna - Signed!
solid

Then either you are talking abject bollox or the manager is a plum - possibly both as it goes

The manager at interview, and it is a matter of quoted record, quite specifically stated that we needed a left sided CB and that our CB weakness last season had cost us - this a priority over a striker, Ogbonna was his choice. This shocked the Daves.

So when his one dimensional 4 1 2 1 2, no width set up had for the second week come unstuck and again exposed his 'attacking' FB's he yanks off his must have buy?

Wasn't injured. Tomkins should have come on for Jenks if anything.

Re: Angelo Ogbonna - Signed!
If he wasn't injured then it was a very bad decision to take him off and Tomkins should have come on for him. It was clear from early on that Jenkinson was having a bad day and personally I think he struggled with the heat as he looked slow and lethargic......at least I hope that's what the problem was.

Re: Angelo Ogbonna - Signed!
go on then solid, share the wisdom please. tell me how he was involved in Cresswell getting outmuscled for the first and Cresswell passing to their striker for the second

Amazed at the amount of posters on here who don't understand why he was the one that got the hook.

Re: Angelo Ogbonna - Signed!
It's an absolute disgrace if he wasn't injured. It was Cresswell who should have been subbed. Absolute fucking nut job decision

moronic substitution. bilic may have already lost the plot, picking nolan suggests he may never have had the plot
